The Master of Arts in Instrumental Conducting Degree provides students with the skills they will need to successfully lead any instrumental ensemble.
Mansfield's combination of outstanding faculty, numerous performance opportunities, scenic and beautiful location, and outstanding performing ensembles make it the perfect place to become an outstanding instrumental conductor!
What is unique about our program is that we limit the number of full-time student candidates to just two per academic year. This is done to insure that each of our candidates receives ample time on the podium to put into practice all that they study and learn. Graduate Students in the Instrumental Conducting program conduct the university's top wind and percussion ensemble and have numerous opportunities to conduct chamber and string ensembles through their course of study. Often, conducting candidates are able to participate in recording projects, tour concerts, special events like our Annual Conducting Symposium and more.
Auditions for the Master of Arts in Instrumental Conducting are required. Audition requirements are available here. All questions regarding the Instrumental Conducting program should be directed to Dr. Adam F. Brennan at abrennan@mansfield.edu or call (570) -662-4735.
